Mid-Cap Details

Good evening,

I'm *hoping* this is the only email I need to send out with Mid-Cap Details, however, with the way the meet is being communicated, please be on the lookout for additional details tomorrow too.

I know there is a lot here. I tried to pull out as much as possible, and give you everything I think you need.

I've attached a lot here and I encourage you to review it all. It includes the meet information from the host [which is mostly for coaches but may be helpful to you], volunteer assignments, floor plan (so you know where seating is) as well as the psych sheets . I also included the timeline for those that are coming late.

Practice Tonight/Tomorrow: There is practice tonight for all groups 8 to 8:30/9:00 and tomorrow morning it's offered from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.

Alternates:

The scratch meeting is an hour before the meets start for each session. If you are a listed alternate in an event, please respond to this email with a phone number I could reach you at via text between 9 and 10 AM (girls) and 2 and 3 PM (boys). I will text you either way to let you know if there were scratches and they need to attend, or if there were not.

Late Arrivals:

  • If you do not plan to come for pre-meet warm-ups please let me know and when you arrive on Saturday please check in!
  • If you plan to come late, I would encourage you to plan to arrive an hour before your first event. This is just in case the meet is moving faster than anticipated and so you can get settled and warmed up!

Seating:

  • Seating will be inside and outside but is not assigned. I will try to have a team tent up outside so we can all gather together. I will put up a towel/blanket with the Mt. View logo on it.
  • Staging for events will be on the outside deck.
  • They have opened up more spectator seating inside and it will be clearly marked.

Concessions:

  • I had asked the host team regarding concessions, and I'm not sure what will be available. They stated a "food truck" but I'm not sure what that means in terms of food. I would therefore plan accordingly (there really isn't anything close to where the meet is at).

Parking:

  • There lot is REALLY small, but they have another building with a lot as well.  I would plan to walk or look for swimmer drop-off.

Spectator Notes:

  • I was told there are no spectator limits.
  • However keep in mind that the facility is inside (please mask or not accordingly).

Volunteer Assignments:

  • Thank you to those of you that volunteered. You can find your name on the attached volunteer sheet. Thankfully they just did 1/2 sessions!
  • If you are timing in the girls session (AM) the timers meeting is a 9:45 AM, if you are timing in the boys session the timers meeting is at 2:45 PM

Admission Fee:

  • $3.00 for anyone ages 11 and over
  • Programs are $4.00

Warm-ups

  • There will be a warm-up/down pool available at all times. Because of parent restriction on deck, it is asked that if you are coming late that you text Coach Jess (717.304.5718) to let her know that a swimmer is coming to warm-up. This way one of our coaches can meet them and supervise.
  • For regular warm-ups the Girls session (AM) 10 and unders are from 9:00 to 9:20 and 11 and over is from 9:20 to 9:50.
  • For the regular warm-ups the Boys session (PM) 10 and unders are from 2:00-2:20

Meet Start Time/Timeline

  • The meet starts at 10 AM for Girls and 3 PM for Boys
  • The timeline has each session running about 2 hours, however I anticipate it to be faster.

Awards/Tshirts

  • Mid-Cap swimmers get a tshirt, we distribute ours at our banquet. (Don't worry we took care of it!)
  • Awards will also be given at the banquet

If you still have questions please let me know at practice tonight or tomorrow morning. If you have yet to get to a practice this week, please try to get to one of these last two.
