Championship Weekend Information!

Good evening,

Here are some details for this weekend regarding Divisionals (round 1), All Starts (Round 2), and some basic details regarding Mid-Caps (round 3). Looking forward to fast swimming this weekend!

Please note the following regarding photography: All photographs or videos taken during the swim meet must be taken on the side of the pool between the backstroke flags (doesn't matter if its before, during, or after a race or warm-ups). No photographs may be taken from the start (where the blocks are) or turn end of the pool. This includes the use of cell phones. This is a league policy that is enforced. 
Divisionals:
  • Held at Lebanon YMCA (201 N. 7th Street, Lebanon PA 17046).
  • Warm-ups: We are second session, please arrive by 7:10 AM (our warm-up time is 7:25-7:50). There will be some time for one-way sprints at the end of the warm-ups.
  • Scratch Meeting: 8:15 AM (if your swimmer is sick and won't be attending I will need to know BEFORE 8:15 AM). Please send a remind or text 717.304.5718 with swimmer first and last name.
  • Meet Start: 9:00 AM
  • Officials Meeting: 8:30 AM
  • Timers Meeting (all timers regardless of half working): 8:45 AM
  • Seating: In the gym
  • Staging: They have said they will call events in the gym and then move swimmers along the non-bleacher side of the pool up behind the blocks.
  • Admission: FREE
  • Program Cost: $3.00, they also stated results will be on meet mobile.
All Stars (Sunday)
  • I have the following swimmers unable to participate beyond our Divisional Meet: Katie Reynolds, Kelcie Robertson, Torree Robertson, Cole Strouse, and Cameron Royer
    • If you are unable to attend Sunday or the following Saturday (July 30th) please let me know ASAP.
  • When will I know if I made it to Sunday? Hopefully no later than 6 PM on Saturday night. However A Division is running a split session and their meet does not end until later in the afternoon on Saturday. Top 16 qualifiers (and top 8 relays) based upon time when merged together from all 3 divisions make it. Winning, or getting first or second in our division does not guarantee you move on.
  • Please check emails: I will send out an email Saturday with a list of names and events swimmers made (Psych sheets if available). You are asked to confirm you will be there via email or text, and if you will or will not be attending warm-ups (swimmers that have later events sometimes come later...however please note there is no other warm-up time other than what we are assigned before the meet).
  • Location: Annville Cleona Community Pool (E Maple Street, Annville PA 17033)
  • Warmups: That will come out with the email about who made it. In the past we have traditionally been the 2nd or 3rd session which is around 7:25 or 7:50. There is a one way sprint (starts) and turns session at 8:40 AM for 11 and over, and 9:00 Am for 10 & unders
  • Volunteers: I submitted names based upon the Google Form filled out. I'll let you know via email who our volunteers that are picked are (generally 2-3 timers, 1 ribbon, and 1 official). Volunteers get free admission.
  • Admission: $5.00 (ages 12 and over) with one free program per family.
  • Gates open: 6:30 AM and entrance is back gate (they will instruct you on parking)
  • Tents: I will have a team tent set up on Saturday (I plan to get there right at 8 PM to get us a space towards the concessions and under a tree). If anyone else would like to bring a tent and set it up you are welcome to join me between 8:00 and 8:30 PM. Just let me know!
  • Restrooms: The ones at the pool are only for the swimmers, everyone else must use the portable restrooms.
  • Meet Start: 9:25 AM
Mid-Caps
  • Date: Saturday July 30th
  • Who Makes it? Swimmers that place in the top 8 in individual events, and the top 4 relay teams advance. [However, please note that if the other league does not have 4 relays our league could have an extra relay make it. This would be known on Sunday evening].
  • Practices leading up to that meet: There will be no AM practice on July 25th so all swimmers can recover. Depending upon participants answers in the survey there will be AM and/or PM practices offered. AM will be offered Tuesday through Friday and PM will be offered Monday through Thursday. Time for AM TBD based upon those that qualify, but PM will be at 8:00 PM. This will be communicated Sunday night. [If you have certain restrictions with practicing regarding times and your swimmer qualifies, please communicate this via email or text on Sunday July 24th].
  • Please note that if you participate in All Stars and make Mid-Caps you must participate. There is a fine and the league can impose a 1 year ban on championship participation [I haven't seen them do this but they could]. Therefore, if you cannot attend this meet, please let me know ASAP. (Unless your name was previously mentioned)
  • Location: Palmyra Community Pool
  • Time: AM (timeline and warm-ups TBD) but meet start time is 8:15 AM
  • Volunteers: I will need 2 timers and 1 (or 2) swim coordinators. Swim Coordinators just make sure swimmers get from our team tents to the staging area. These volunteers get free admission. Please let me know if you are willing to volunteer for either!
  • Warm-ups: There will be a pool open for late warm-ups but there will not be access to the main pool outside our warm-up times.
  • Psych Sheets: Will be posted no later than Tuesday July 26th
  • Tent Set-Up: We will be able to set up team tents on Friday before, if interested in joining for that set-up please let me know.
  • Admission: $5.00 (12 and over) and $3.00 for a program
