Final Week Updates: Practices, Drag Day, Divisionals & More!

Dear Marlin Families!

As we dive into our final week of the regular season, I want to share some important reminders and updates so you're in the loop as we wrap up a great summer of fast swimming!

🏊 Practice Schedule Reminders

Mini Team:
Your final practice will be Thursday morning. Please plan for a slightly longer session as we wrap up your season with a little extra fun.

Regular Team:
If your swimmer is NOT participating in Divisionals this Saturday, your last in-water practice will be:

  • Thursday morning for morning swimmers
  • Tuesday evening for evening swimmers

We encourage all non-Divisional swimmers to still join us for the pizza party (Thursday at 7 PM for evening families at the Park) and pancake breakfast (Friday AM for our morning families-arrive 15 minutes before your normal end of practice time) to celebrate the season. However, we ask that only swimmers attending Divisionals participate in swim practices during the final day on Friday so our coaches can focus on preparing those competing.

🎽 Drag Day Is Back!

Drag Day (a.k.a. one of the most-loved practices of the season!) is set for:

  • Wednesday, July 17 for AM groups
  • Thursday for PM groups

We may add a bonus Drag Day Thursday morning for AM swimmers — T-shirts and Fun Socks only for that one.

What’s Drag Day?
It’s a fun tradition where swimmers wear something that creates “drag” in the water (shorts, T-shirts, old Halloween costumes, tutus, etc.) for half of practice — then take it off and race fast to feel light and speedy! It’s a great way to begin tapering and a fun way to celebrate all their hard work.

We'll also have:

  • Donuts!
  • Relays & races
  • Photo ops
  • Play time

Important Safety Notes:
Clothing must be safe and swimmable. No hats, masks, or hooded shirts during swimming. These can be worn for pictures only.

Participation is optional, but it’s a favorite every year!

đź’µ Divisionals Fees Reminder

If you received an email stating that your Divisional fees weren't paid upfront and are participating please take care of that ASAP. Thanks!

🙋Volunteers Needed for Divisionals

We still need MANY volunteer roles filled for Saturday. Even if you're only available for part of the meet, your help makes a huge difference.
Note: Duck-o-gram table sales is a sitting job — a great option for those with mobility restrictions. This is also a key fundraiser for our team!

📬 Final Newsletter Coming Soon

We’re finalizing the last regular-season newsletter and hope to send it your way tomorrow.

🥖 Panera Dine-Out Night – Wednesday!

Join us at Panera on Wednesday for a team dine-out fundraiser!
Flyer is attached — please share on your personal social media and help support the team.

🥪 Last Fundraiser – R&K Sub Sale #2

To help families meet the fundraising requirement, we’re doing a second R&K Sub Sale.
Date is coming soon. If you didn’t participate in fundraising or buy out, we’ll contact you with your remaining fee balance.

🧾 Outstanding Registration Fees

If you still owe your registration fee (or don't remember if you did pay), please get in touch with us ASAP.
Everyone who is not a pool member and registered online has already had their non-member fee charged — with the exception of one family (we’re double checking due to their add on swimmer by check).

Thank you all for making this an awesome season where we finished as Co-Champs of B Division. We couldn't do it without you . Let’s finish strong and celebrate together this week!
