Meet Details & Location for Tomorrow’s Heatherfield Meet 🏊♂️
Good afternoon, Marlins Families!
Here are all the important details for tomorrow's meet at Penn Colonial Pool vs Heatherfield Swim Team.
Event entries will be posted late tonight. We are working through some move around things in the line-up and it's like a giant puzzle!
Please note that rather than keep swimmers in age groups and swim exhibition we moved some up an age group into empty live heats where they can swim for points.
🕖 Meet Schedule
- Arrival Time: 7:25 AM
- Warm-Ups: shortly after arrival
- Meet Start: 8:15AM
- Estimated End Time: ~12:00 PM
📍 Pool Address & Directions
100 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA [Recommended to use ABC Lanes North Bowling Alley for GPS Directions]
The Pool is located off of Locust Lane near ABC lanes north bowling alley. If coming from Nyes Road, Elmwood Dr will be on your left just AFTER you pass the Bowling Alley. If coming from I-83 via Union Deposit and Rutherford Roads, Elmwood Dr will be a right-turn just BEFORE the Bowling Alley. There is a yellow "join Penn Colonial pool" sign where Elmwood meets Locust Lane (I think there's also one on Berkeley St., but there's no parking lot access there)
Follow Elmwood Dr as it curves right down the hill past the baseball field, and you'll then end up in the pool parking lot.
* Please drive slowly on Elmwood Drive (small kids live/play there), the baseball field is often in use and use extra caution when entering and exiting the lot, as the entrance has a narrow/blind curve with potholes.
Parking Information: * In the lot, we will have someone helping to organize/park cars, or at least have a somewhat organized system that other cars can follow
* The lot is old and not in good shape - potholes, mix of pavement and gravel, no parking lines. Sorry!
* Please do not park directly in front of the buildings on the right side.
* Overflow parking is the grassy area on the left of Elmwood Drive, between the bowling alley and the baseball field.
* If you have people who need to park close for mobility issues, etc they can park on grass by pool gate (with their pass)

🏊♂️ Meet Logistics
- We’ll be in Even-numbered lanes.
- Relay Events: We are swimming Medley Relays, which go at the beginning of the meet. [This means that we aren't able to get as many swimmers into relays since we do not have enough individuals legal in all of the stroke yet]
- Concessions: Available on site.
- Team Seating: Over towards the baby pool side of the pool— look for fellow Marlins!
📷 Photography Policy (League Rule)
No filming or photography at the start or turn end of the pool.
Filming is allowed from the sides between the flags only.

👥 Volunteers
We have 2 openings for line-up (one first half and one second half) if you are available please let me know via email!
We could use a few extra hands for line-up, especially with several new families joining us.

🧳 What to Bring
- Swimsuit, cap, goggles (extras help)
- Towels (more than one!)
- Team shirt/sweatshirt
- Nutritious snacks & drinks
- Sunscreen, bug spray
- Books, games for downtime
- Folding chairs/blankets
- Cash for concessions
- A marker to write your events on your arm
📝 Before the Meet Starts
- Arrive by 7:25 AM in the pool area
- Set up your swimmer’s spot with team members
- Write swimmer’s events (event #s from SwimTopia) on their arm with waterproof marker
- Events will be posted Friday night, heat and lanes aren't finalized until morning of the meet so keep track of your events!
- We are starting at Event 1 this week
- Swimmers report for warm-ups
- Return to team area to rest, hydrate, and prepare following warm-ups and listen to be called for your events by the line-up folks!
🏁 During the Meet
- Make sure your swimmer knows their event numbers
- Line-up volunteers help 10 & Unders get to events
- Swimmers can check their time with timers after each swim
- You may leave once your swimmer is done but check with Coach Jess/Griffen first!
- Results will be posted during the meet or on Meet Mobile (summer swim gets posted a lot slower than winter so be patient!)
- Ribbons will be handed out at upcoming practices
- Final results will also be loaded into SwimTopia
