Dear Mt. View Marlins Families,

We wanted to provide everyone with an update regarding this Saturday's B Division Championships.

The Mid Penn Swim League (and if you didn't know I sit as President on this) is closely monitoring the weather forecast, which is currently calling for the potential of thunderstorms on Saturday. While we are hopeful the forecast improves, the league wants everyone to be prepared should severe weather impact the meet.

A final decision will be made by approximately 12:00 PM on Friday league wide and we will communicate with you as soon as possible. 

For context: Our meet is scheduled to be outside at Hummelstown. No team in our division has an indoor pool. C Division is at Lebanon YMCA and is inside for the pool and seating. A Division is an indoor pool but seating is set to be outside. They cannot accommodate everyone inside so if weather is bad they have to split the meet. This means that B Division is the one with an issue and an indoor facility must be found just in case. I was able to have Hummelstown connect with Special Events at Elizabethtown and they are in the process of securing the pool as a back-up.

If the Meet Moves Indoors

Should severe weather require a change, the meet will be relocated to the Alumni Pool at Elizabethtown College.

Due to a large music event on campus and limited indoor space (due to said event and renovations happening in Thompson around the gym and bathrooms), the meet will need to be split into two sessions which would reflect the same plan as A Division:

• Boys Session
• Girls Session

We encourage you to pack light! Wear shoes (required in the hallways) and not block the doors to the athletic offices or PA program classroom.

Additional session information and timelines will be shared if this plan is implemented. (I'd suspect a similar warm-up time and start for the boys session, but girls will likely be closer to an 11 AM start)

Parking: If the meet moves to Elizabethtown College, all parking must be in lots accessible from Cedar Street. Please do not park in lots accessed from College Avenue, as those lots will be reserved for the campus event.

Please note that since this would be last minute change it may not flow perfectly and may be a little tricky. 

All Stars Information

The forecast also includes the potential for overnight storms on Saturday, which could impact setup for Sunday's All-Star Meet.

If necessary, Annville may delay or adjust Saturday evening tent setup. An update regarding tent setup will be provided by 5:00 PM on Saturday if changes are needed.

Additionally, if the A&B Division Championships are split into two sessions, there may be a delay in determining All-Star qualifiers and releasing psych sheets. We appreciate everyone's patience should this occur.

Volunteer Help Needed for Saturday

We are still looking for a few volunteers to help make Saturday's meet run smoothly. We currently need:

• Ribbon Table – First Half
• Ribbon Table – Second Half
• One Stager – Second Half

If you are available to help, please let us know as soon as possible via email. Your assistance is greatly appreciated and helps ensure our team can fulfill its volunteer commitments that Hummelstown has asked us to fill. 

We are hopeful the weather cooperates and that none of these contingency plans are necessary. Thank you for your flexibility, and we'll share any updates as soon as we receive them from the league.
